The Go Twos

Drawing from the rich rhythmic and melodic traditions of American Folk, Blues, and Bluegrass, as well as the deep lineage of Irish, Scottish, and Celtic folk, The GoTwos blend these influences into a captivating musical experience.

Rosie McDonald (vocals, guitar, Irish bouzouki, bodhrán) is an accomplished singer and multi-instrumentalist known for her robust and rhythmic guitar playing, which features a driving acoustic rhythm, alternate tunings, and intricate fingerpicking. Her rich alto voice brings to life the stories of folk, traditional, and blues music. Rosie has performed at numerous festivals along Australia's East Coast with bands such as Seanchas, RAPT, Folklore, and The Trippy Hippy Band. For 15 years, she was a member of the folk group Mothers of Intention. In 2021, Rosie collaborated with Cliona Molins on the album "Mothers of the Nation," which celebrates Australia's convict women's story. Her song "Mothers of the Nation," honoring all Australian women, is currently being scored for choir. Rosie also performs with The Prankqueans, a collective of Irish and Australian creatives.

Nigel Lever (vocals, mandolin) is a celebrated bluegrass and folk mandolinist, guitarist, and singer. He has performed with groups such as The Willing Ponies, 3 Jimmies, The 3 Marketeers, The Trippy Hippy Band, and The Faraway Eyes. Nigel is a founding member of Acoustic Shock and a member of the Karen Lynne Band. His extensive touring experience spans both Australia and overseas, including frequent visits to the American Bluegrass heartland to immerse himself in the music at various festivals.

Together, Rosie McDonald and Nigel Lever create The GoTwos, a dynamic  pairing that brings together their diverse musical backgrounds and shared passion for folk traditions.

Quentin Fraser, a highly accomplished multi instrumentalist joins them on the CD and live in concert playing double bass,  Dobro  and flat pick acoustic guitar joins them.   Brilliant musician  and collaborator Ann Palumbo as special guest performer with her powerful double bass playing and sublime harmonies.This is a powerhouse band who are finding their groove and are on the rise.
